Vellex Computing Pitches at 2023 PG&E Innovation Pitch Fest

SAN RAMON, CA — SEPTEMBER 14, 2023 — Vellex Computing participated in the 2023 PG&E Innovation Pitch Fest, competing in the Supply and Load Management track before PG&E leaders and energy industry partners. The event, held at PG&E's campus in San Ramon, California, brings together startups and technology providers to explore grid modernization and clean energy solutions with PG&E's operational teams.

The Vellex team presented its analog computing technology and its applications to power grid optimization. Its physics-based analog architecture is capable of solving complex grid optimization problems, including real-time optimal power flow and multi-period distribution planning, orders of magnitude faster and at a fraction of the energy cost of conventional digital approaches. For utilities like PG&E, this enables faster scenario modeling across large resource portfolios, more accurate simulation of long-duration storage assets, and improved forecasting of market price dynamics.

The presentation opened direct conversations with PG&E on applications across grid deployment optimization, renewable integration, and supply and load management.
